Conversation Orbs

Conversation Orbs explores how voice AI can become a more natural participant in group conversations. Meet Frank: an assistant designed to follow who is speaking, learn names as the conversation unfolds, and decide when to join in or simply listen. Each person appears as a floating orb that reacts to their voice, with live speech bubbles making the exchange visible. Combining speaker detection, contextual name tracking and real-time speech, the prototype investigates a simple question: how can an AI understand not just what is being said, but who it is talking to—even in a room full of people?
